Will you support me for the JDRF walk on 9/27/15 to help CREATE A WORLD WITHOUT TYPE 1 DIABETES…

Please donate on my site, or you can give me a check or cash in person, or send over a check, written out to “JDRF”.

My lovely daughter Lauren developed Type 1 Diabetes when she was 15 years old, an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas loses the ability to produce insulin—a hormone essential to turn the food we eat into the energy we need to sustain life. T1D strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. It requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing and lifelong dependence on insulin, whether inhaled, pumped or injected. It is a leading cause of blindness, kidney, heart, and circulatory disease. It’s really not fun!

How can you help your frizzy hair on a humid day?

By |May 16th, 2014|Categories: Helen's Tips|Tags: , , , , |0 Comments

Is your hair a big frizz ball on a dreary, rainy, humid day? And you are not ready to put it up in a topknot, you’d like to wear it down today…

1) wash & condition hair with your favorite product

2) apply a frizz tamer to damp hair

3) comb out knots using a wide tooth comb

4) blow out your hair, using a metal based round brush and hair dryer that has technology to control static (like negative ion systems) – switch to cool at the end to lock the style

5) finish by flat ironing to control fly-away and frizz – run your fingers through hair, the natural oils from your skin tames the hair even flatter
